Teen identified as victim after Surrey alleyway death

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – No arrests have been made and it’s still unclear whether the suspected homicide of a teenager in Surrey on Sunday was targeted.

The Surrey RCMP responded to a report of an altercation on 127A St just after 5:00 a.m. on Sunday. When they arrived, they found a dead man in a back alleyway. He had injuries consistent with homicide.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has identified the victim as 19-year-old Tanner Krupa, from Edmonton.

“The investigation is in its early stages and it is unknown if the incident was targeted,” says Cpl. Frank Jang.

“Mr Krupa was not known to police, nor did he have a criminal record.”

“The friends, the co-workers that knew Mr Krupa, we are urging those people to come forward and speak to police.”

Mr Krupa had recently moved to the Lower Mainland from Edmonton for work.

An autopsy will be performed this week.
