Still ‘multiple’ persons of interest in Burnaby teen’s murder

BURNABY (NEWS 1130) – A day after we heard from people in Burnaby demanding more information, homicide investigators say they still don’t have an update in the death of a 13-year-old.

It’s been two months since the girl was found dead in Central Park.

“We’re filtering through that video surveillance that we reported back to the media we initially had many many hours of, and we have multiple persons of interest we’re still filtering through and moving that investigation forward,” Meghan Foster with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says.

“These investigations take time and are lengthy just in nature. We’re just making sure that no stone has been left unturned.”

Foster adds the case is a priority for homicide investigators.

She was last seen leaving her home not far from Central Park at 6 p.m. on July 18th.

Her body was found about seven hours later.
