DELTA (NEWS 1130) – Today marks one month since Delta officially became a city, but you may still see the word “Corporation” on some signs and notices.
“It’ll be done slowly, and taking into account expenses, that type of thing,” explains City Manager George Harvie, who adds the idea is not to be wasteful.
“We don’t want to get rid of all of our business cards, so as the stationery runs out we’ll put together our new brand on our stationery with the ‘city’ mentioned.”
He says the city has been branding itself with just “Delta” –without the word “Corporation”– over the last few years which has simplified the transition. “Even the decals on our vehicles as they were turned over, we just branded them with single Delta versus Corporation of Delta.”
$5,000 was originally set aside for the change, but Harvie says only a portion of the funds –about $3,000– have been used.
“We’re well within the budget and we won’t exceed that, doesn’t even come close to it.”
Harvie says the sign on “Municipal Hall” will eventually read “City Hall”, but not until next year.
