Brief court appearance for man accused of murdering Marpole couple

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The young man charged in a high-profile murder of a Vancouver couple was back in court today, but not for very long.

Rocky Rambo Wei Nam Kam, 25, stood in the prisoners box, wearing an old pink t-shirt. He had an attentive look on his face and remained silent, as his case was pushed to December 12th.

Kam has yet to enter a plea, but he does have a legal team in place.

He is accused in the second-degree murders of Dianna Mah-Jones and Richard Jones. The couple was found dead at their home on 64 Avenue near Hudson Street in Marpole on September 26th.

Police say Kam was born in Hong Kong and moved to Calgary with his family as a teenager, then to Vancouver on his own this past summer.

There’s still no word on any possible relationship between Kam and the victims. Police have not speculated on a motive.

At the time of the killings, police had urged members of the public to be vigilant, as it was unclear if the attack was targeted or random.
