Sex offender who poses ‘significant risk’ to children now living in Vancouver

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A man with a history of sexual crimes against children has been released from custody, and is now living in a Vancouver halfway house.

Vancouver police are warning that 35-year-old Kristjon Otto Olson poses a “significant risk for committing sexual offences against children.”

His convictions include sexual assault, sexual interference, and possession of child pornography.

The Correctional Services of Canada has determined that Olson is a very high risk to re-offend, specifically to children and teenagers of both genders, including strangers, acquaintances, intimate partners, and the general public.

Olson is bound by several court-imposed conditions: he must wear an electronic monitoring device, stay away from alcohol or drugs, not use the Internet without supervision, stay away from schools, parks, swimming pools, and recreation centres, and not be around anyone under the age of 18.

Anyone who sees him violating of any of these conditions is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.

Olson is described as aboriginal, 5’8″ tall, 200 lbs., with a stocky build, short, light brown hair, and brown eyes.
