White Spot staff to donate their time Christmas Day

VANCOUVER/RICHMOND (NEWS1130) – If going out for lunch on Christmas Day is a holiday tradition, why not help out a good cause at the same time?

White Spot is hosting its 16th annual White Spot Christmas Charity Luncheon at two locations: at the restaurant at Kingsway and Knight, and at Richmond Centre.

Staff at those restaurants will be donating their time, tips, and all sales.

Each White Spot will be contributing to different causes.

“The Richmond Centre location is benefiting the Richmond Hospital Foundation and the Kingsway at Knight location is benefiting Variety, The Children’s Charity,” says Warren Erhart, president and CEO of the restaurant chain.

Believe it or not the campaign has never had a shortage of volunteers.

“It is tough for the managers to schedule for that day only because there are so many that want to work and so therefore the shifts are actually usually shorter in length to get more people having a chance to do that,” notes Erhart.

The two restaurants hope to beat last year’s combined fundraising total of $21,276. More than $201,000 has been generated since the start of the annual campaign.

The luncheon is on Christmas Day from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
