TSAWWASSEN (NEWS 1130) – A man has been charged in connection with a death at a pub in Tsawwassen over a year ago.
Russ Armfelt, 53, was found unconscious and unresponsive on December 11, 2016. He later died in the hospital.
Delta Police say the death followed an “altercation” at the Rose and Crown Pub.
Franco Sarra, 20, of Burnaby faces a manslaughter charge. Police say he and Armfelt knew each other.
Police Chief Neil Dubord says investigators shared the news with the victim’s family yesterday.
“They are feeling a bit numb right now. This day was a long time coming, and it’s hard for them to believe. Our hope is that they can now start to find a bit of closure with this news.”
Sarra is being held in custody and appears in court today.
