VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A 60-foot yacht has significant damage after it caught fire this morning in Coal Harbour.
The fire broke out around 7 a.m. today. Captain Jonathan Gormick with Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services says crews made quick work of the flames.
Gormick says three fire boats were dispatched, but “because the boat was more to the dock and we were able to gain access from the dock, it was primarily fought from the dock. The fire boat was brought in just as a preventative measure… if we needed it.”
A fast attack and coordinated response with FIREBOAT 3 kept this fire aboard a moored 60’ vessel from spreading. Amazing work by the teams & thanks to on scene partners @VancouverPD @BC_EHS @bchydro #vanworkingfire #vanfireboat pic.twitter.com/JcMZlfccsg
