Victoria boy assaulted and robbed at a local park

VICTORIA (NEWS 1130) – Police are looking for a pair of suspects after a serious assault of a boy in Victoria.

It happened Tuesday at the Quadra Heights Playground just before 9 pm.

The victim was found with potentially life-altering injuries at the playground.

According to the victim, he and a friend were at the playground when two others stole their longboards. When the teen tried to approach the two, he was assaulted with a weapon. Currently, he remains in hospital.

Police are looking for the two suspects described as Aboriginal, approximately 15 and 16 years old. Both suspects are described as being short with an average build. One of them was wearing a red hat at the time of the incident.

One of the longboards stolen is described as “distinctive” with a dark grey grip tape on top with a circular black and white sticker in the middle. The underside is described as dark blue, white, grey and aquamarine pattern, with a smaller black circular sticker.

Witnesses report that a man offered help to the victim as he laid on the ground. The man did not remain at the scene and officers are looking to speak to him.
