Body found in Richmond

RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) – A man’s body has been found in Richmond.
It was found at around 11 a.m. Thursday morning near Number 5 Road and Dyke Road. It was deemed a homicide a short time later.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the case.
Frank Jang with IHIT says they do know who this person was, but are withholding the identity until family is notified.
“What we know of the victim from the background checks that we have conducted of him, he was well known to police but right now we just don’t have any further information.”
Jang says this doesn’t appear to be gang related.
An autopsy on the man will be performed in the next few days.
Anyone with information is asked to come forward to police.
