Drugs, cash seized in Chilliwack raid

CHILLIWACK (NEWS 1130) – A woman has been arrested in connection with a drug trafficking investigation in Chilliwack.

Cpl. Mike Rail with the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment says she was taken into custody on May 24th, and investigators found close to 96 grams of what is believed to be cocaine, cash, cell phones, and a car.

“On May 25th, 2018 the crew investigators — supported by the Chilliwack Quick Response Team and General Duty officers — executed a CDSA search warrant at addresses in the 45000-block of Storey Avenue and the 7200-block of Chilliwack River Road.”

“They were associated to the same investigation, but on separate addresses,” he explains. “The arrest was part of the evidence to get the evidence for the search warrant.”

He says officers located more than 530 grams of what is believed to be cocaine, a pressing device, $10,000 CAD as well as $2,500 USD, all believed to be part of a local mid-level distribution.

Rail says a rifle, brass knuckles, and a baton were also seized. Investigators will now be handing over their information to the BC Prosecution Service.

“The RCMP investigation and subsequent seizures have prevented a significant quantity of drugs from reaching the streets of our community,” he adds.
