Unsung Hero: Local mother fierce advocate for children with Down Syndrome

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Congratulations to our Unsung Hero Danielle Gibbons. She was nominated for the award by Philip Chan. Take a look at her story, as told by Philip.

My friend Danielle’s first child was diagnosed with Downs Syndrome months before birth.

Rather than see this as an impediment, Danielle became a fierce advocate for children with Down Syndrome and even started an organization to help mothers and families deal and prepare with the birth of a child with Down Syndrome.

You can find more about Danielle’s work, and more on her and her son Conor’s story here.

Alpine Credits is acknowledging Danielle with $500 to say thanks for stepping up and they’re also making a $1,000 donation to the Ronald McDonald House Children’s Charity.

Everyone knows an Unsung Hero. Nominate yours now by clicking here and give credit where credit is due with Alpine Credits and NEWS 1130.
