CityNews Vancouver’s on-air team announced

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – You’ll see some familiar faces when CityNews Vancouver launches its evening TV news in September.

Kyle Donaldson, who spent over a decade at the helm and on-camera with Breakfast Television Vancouver, is the supervising producer. He will be part of the on-air team for CityNews. Before joining Citytv, Donaldson worked as a producer for The New VI and A Channel in Victoria, as well as an anchor, reporter and weather host at CFJC-TV in Kamloops.

“We’re excited to bring a new news player into the local landscape,” says Donaldson. “Vancouverites will see a fresh approach to local content, delivered by journalists directly from the scene.”

Isabelle Raghem has a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism. She has received The Canadian Press’ Eric Murray Scholarship for Aboriginal Persons and Members of a Visible Minority for her 2014 documentary Courage Canada: Blind Ice Hockey. Raghem joins CityNews from CHEK News and CHCH, where she worked as a video journalist and helped with writing and editing.

Tom Walsh joined the CityNews team in 2017 and is already a regular reporter on Breakfast Television. He has covered African conflict zones and grew up in the U.K.

Travis Prasad is born and raised in B.C. and is a graduate of BCIT’s Broadcast Journalism program. Before joining CityNews last year, Prasad was a news writer at CTV Vancouver.

David Zura is an experienced news reporter and anchor. Zura has worked as a local reporter and producer for TVCOGECO in several Ontario cities. Most recently, he worked for Roundhouse Radio in Vancouver.

Ashley Burr was born and raised in the Lower Mainland. She’s an experienced video journalist, most recently having worked in writing and as a reporter with CKPG in Prince George.

Breakfast Television Vancouver reporters Mary Cranston, Thor Diakow and Greg Harper will also make appearances.

CityNews’ 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. news will launch on September 3.

Rogers is the parent company of both CityNews and NEWS 1130.
