Richmond Mounties looking for info after deadly pedestrian-involved crash

RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) – Richmond RCMP are hoping witnesses or someone with dash cam footage can help them understand what happened at a deadly crash last week.

Around 7 p.m. on Friday, a car and a woman crossing the street collided at Minoru Boulevard and Murdoch Avenue. The 80-year-old pedestrian was taken to the hospital with what was thought to be minor injuries at the time, but the woman succumbed to her injuries on Saturday.

Police say the woman crossing the street was in a designated crosswalk, and they don’t believe alcohol or speed had any part in the crash.

The 60-year-old driver involved in the crash is cooperating with police in the investigation, but Mounties are hoping someone who saw the crash will talk to them.

If you know anything about the crash, or have dash cam footage, call the Richmond RCMP Road Safety Unit at 604-278-1212.
