The heat is on this week!

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Get ready for another spell of very warm weather this week. Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.

Near the water, highs in the mid to high twenties are expected each day. Inland temperatures are expected to soar into the low to mid thirties. By the weekend, the temperatures may be even higher.

Environment Canada says the forecast temperatures this week are five to 10 degrees above average for late July, but notes it’s unlikely we’ll see temperature records broken.

You’re reminded to take precautions to protect yourself from the heat. That includes staying hydrated, spending time in an air-conditioned place for “at least several hours” every day, and using sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30.

Never leave children or pets alone in a parked car.
