Sweden performs tonight at Celebration of Light

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Crews are busy getting ready to put on the second show of this year’s Celebration of Light — with Sweden set to wow you tonight.

Kelly Guille is Technical Director of Fireworks for the festival and says he’s expecting a great show, adding the company hasn’t been here in over a decade.

“These guys have not been here since 2005 when they last competed. And actually I believe it’s a younger generation taking over the company in the meantime from the elder one, so I know that they’re gonna bring an awesome show, they know what they’re doing.”

Setting up for a firework show if this caliber isn’t exactly a simple process–Guille says the Swedish team has set up a very delicate layout.

“During set up here, we’ve seen that they’re very, very intricate with precise angles and really making sure that all the different devices are exact and to each other, so it’s perfect across the barge,” he says.

“And that really makes me think the show is going to be very fine and very coordinated to the music, and as well, perfect in the sky.”

The show starts at 10 p.m.
