Theatre Under The Stars out of the haze for one last show

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Perhaps it won’t be true to its name with the clouds and rain, but Vancouverites can catch the final show for the Theatre Under The Stars tonight.

The final show will be “42nd Street,” directed by Sarah Rodgers at Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park. She says she loves putting on the open-air shows, but admits the smoke from the B.C. wildfires has taken some toll on her performers.

“It’s like guerrilla theatre because we’re out in the great outdoors.” Rodgers says, adding that for the actors working in the smoke, “it seems to have gotten worse this last week, and they are really aware that it is affecting them. They’re out there under the elements, breathing in that air for two hours.”

If you want to brave the elements and catch the last show, it start 8:00 p.m. and tickets are available on the Theatre Under The Stars website.
