Police search for man accused of exposing himself in Delta park

DELTA (NEWS 1130) – Police are searching for a man who is said to have exposed himself to a woman at Sunshine Hills Park Tuesday morning.

It’s said to have happened around 7:30 a.m. According to police, a man witnessed a woman chasing away the unknown suspect.

Delta Police say they received the report about two hours later. When they conducted an extensive search of the area, they were unable to find him.

“Reports such as these are definitely concerning to police,” Cris Leykauf with the Delta Police Department says. “Our officers have been speaking to neighbours in the area, but if anyone believes they have information which may be relevant to police, please contact us.”

The man is described as 5’8″ tall, heavyset, with a black beard with some white in it. He’s believed to be about 50 years old and was last seen in the area of 64a Avenue and Mason Place.

“Delta Police have stepped up patrols into the area, and analysts are engaged in seeking more information about any similar occurrences in the region,” police add.

Police are urging anyone who may be walking through the area to pay attention to their surroundings. They also recommend carrying a cell phone or walking in pairs.
