$5,000 reward offered for tips leading to man wanted for murder

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – A $5,000 reward is being offered to someone who can help them track down a suspected killer though to be hiding out in the Lower Mainland.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is looking for 27-year-old Brandon Nathan Teixeira who slipped away from police twice in the last few weeks.

On Thursday, IHIT released a surveillance video of him from the last day he was seen when he entered a liquor store in Langley. Police are asking the public to watch the clips and contact them if they have any information about his whereabouts.

Corp. Frank Jang says police think he’s still in the area, but Teixeira also has friends in Alberta.

“We believe this is going to provide an extra incentive to those with knowledge of where Brandon Teixeria is right now to come forward,” he said.

Investigators believe Teixeira gunned down 28-year-old Nicholas Khabra in Surrey on Oct. 23, 2017.  Khabra was found by police and later died in the hospital. Shortly after the shooting, police recovered a vehicle that was set on fire in Langley.

They say they haven’t given up on the search and are still actively looking for him.

“We haven’t stopped looking for him since he was charged with first degree murder,” said Jang. “He has been charged with a first degree murder in a shooting death of a man about a year ago. That gives you a sense of propensity for violence by Mr. Teixeria.”

Teixeira has been charged with first-degree murder. He is believed to be extremely violent and should be considered armed and dangerous.

He is described as Caucasian and 5’10” with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a snake tattoo on the left side of his chest and a sleeve tattoo on his left arm.

Crime Stoppers if offering the reward. If you have any information, you can remain anonymous by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
