VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – If you’re a CIBC customer, you may have had some trouble with your online or mobile banking Friday.
Service has since been restored, but they were down for several hours. It looks like the problem started as early as 7 a.m. PT.
We have restored service and clients can bank as usual. We pride ourselves on going above and beyond for our clients and we know that today we didn’t meet your expectations. We sincerely apologize. (1/2)

It also appeared to have been affecting in-person service from tellers.
CIBC has not yet provided a specific reason for the service interruption, only saying that it had something to do with an outage.
