Metro Vancouver rainfall warning over

METRO VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Rainfall warnings were still in effect for parts of Metro Vancouver and Howe Sound Monday morning, but those warnings were lifted at about 11 a.m.

Meantime, winter-like conditions have gripped large areas of central and southeastern BC.

Environment Canada says as much as 50 centimetres could fall by Tuesday for regions like the Shuwap, Chilcotin and 100 Mile regions, as well as Yoho and Kootenay Parks.

Remember: As of today, you need winter tires on out-of-town highways. That rule is in effect until the end of April.

You could face a $109 fine if you are caught driving those routes without winter tires.
