BURNABY (NEWS 1130) – An all-candidates meeting for those running for the Burnaby School Board ended in chaos last night.
Footage posted on Facebook shows incumbent trustee Larry Hayes trying to get out of the gym where the event was being held, but a woman carrying a baby was blocking his way.
The woman screamed and repeatedly asked, “Why are you pushing me?”
The RCMP was eventually called in.
People who were there claim the woman was among those questioning Hayes about his support for SOGI 123, which is a resource for teachers regarding inclusiveness for students of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
The video was posted by anti-SOGI activist Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson, who is running for a seat on the city’s school board.
