Boyfriend of Richmond homicide victim charged with manslaughter

RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) – A man has been charged in connection with the killing of a woman at a home in Richmond this week.

Shortly after midnight on Thursday, Aspen Pallot, 19, was found dead inside her home on Westminster Highway near Gilbert Road.

Solaris Onatta Running Dey, 23, was arrested a short time later. He has now been charged with manslaughter.

“We believe Mr. Dey — the accused — and our victim, Ms. Pallot, were known to each other,” said Cpl. Frank Jang with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team. “They were in a relationship. We believe this was not a random incident.

Pallot was not previously known to police.

Mounties have not said how she was killed.

“Investigators would still like to speak with Ms. Pallot’s closest friends and associates who may have information regarding her death,” said Jang.
