Union representing Air Georgian pilots file unfair labour complaint

TORONTO – The union representing Air Georgian pilots says it has filed an unfair labour practice complaint with the Canada Industrial Relations Board against the Ontario-based airline.
The Air Line Pilots Association accuses the airline of bargaining in bad faith and acting inappropriately with pilots.
The legal action comes 13 days after pilots filed for conciliation in seeking their first collective agreement.
The union says Air Georgian management threatened Beech 1900 pilots with layoffs, with being prohibited from advancing to Air Canada and with targeting a union negotiator with potential discipline or termination.
An Air Georgian representative says the company has no comment.
The union says the two sides have reached agreement on three of 30 contract sections since it served notice to bargain for a new pilot contract more than 20 months ago.
