Firefighter hurt in West Van house fire

Firefighters are asking the public to avoid the area around a fire in the Bonnymuir neighbourhood of West Vancouver

No one has been hurt in the fire

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A firefighter has been hurt while working on a two-alarm fire in West Vancouver Wednesday afternoon.

The extent of their injuries is still unknown.

The fire started on the second floor of a home in the Bonnymuir area of the British Properties along St. Giles Road.

West Vancouver Fire and Rescue asked people to avoid the area.

Crews reported flames and smoke were visible when they arrived but are now dealing with hot spots.

Both the City of North Vancouver and the District of North Vancouver fire departments helped tackle the fire.

All the occupants are safe, but the cause of the fire is not yet known.
