There’s a new shuttle service to UBC from Surrey

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – It can be a bit of an odyssey getting to UBC from Surrey, but there’s a new alternative to public transit that could make the journey a little easier.

The new Beyond Shuttle starts its trip at 152nd and Highway 10 , heading toward UBC and back each hour. It might be faster and more convenient than taking multiple buses – but it’s certainly not cheaper. The ride costs $10.

“The basic benefit will be to the student or to the employees, those who are wasting their personal, valuable time,” says Baljit Chahal, one of the operators.

There’s even an app for that. The new transit provider asks users to book trips through the app, picking a preferred pickup and dropoff spot. It also lets you track where your shuttle is. There’s also WiFi on-board and in-seat TV.

Translink approved the route to operate through to 2019.
