Elderly pedestrian hit by car in Burnaby dies

BURNABY (NEWS 1130) – An elderly man who was hit by a car in Burnaby over the weekend has passed away.

It happened Saturday afternoon in the area of Canada Way and Ulster Street.

The 84-year-old man who was hit was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition. He has since died of his injuries.

The driver stayed at the scene.

Police are trying to work out whether speed was a factor in the crash. The man was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash.
