By

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – Forensic investigators were still in Abbotsford Friday morning, after a man was killed in what is believed to be a targeted hit.

It happened at South Fraser Way and Clearbrook Road Thursday night. The area is usually a very busy commercial block, with several businesses and a bank.

There are evidence markers in the lobby of the bank.

A man was killed in the shooting. The body was removed from the scene early Friday morning.

The front door of the bank has been completely shot out, with nothing left but shards on the ground.

NEWS 1130 spoke with one man who lives a block away. He said he was also a victim of a shooting 17 years ago.

“There were three loud bangs,” he recalls of Thursday’s shooting.

“It was no .22 handgun. It was more like a .45 or 9mm. It was very cannon-like.”

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the case.
