NEWS 1130 Worst Commute winner goes to great lengths to stay green

LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS 1130) – The latest winner in our Vancouver’s Worst Commute contest uses his bike, the West Coast Express, and SkyTrain to get to where he needs to be Monday through Friday.
Andrew Jackson chooses to cycle for environmental reasons. But commuting by bike isn’t easy. He leaves his home in East Abbotsford at 4:30 a.m. and heads to Mission, where he hops onto the commuter train.
From there, the BCIT student goes to Port Moody, where he hopes to get on the Evergreen Line with his bike.
“Sorry, no bikes on the Skytrain during peak hours going in the peak direction.”
If he’s told to get off the SkyTrain, he either pedals all the way to Burnaby or he goes back to the Westcoast Express and takes that all the way downtown and back-tracks to school.
