RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) – On a night of major change for Metro Vancouver, Richmond has instead chosen continuity, re-electing Malcolm Brodie.
This has made Brodie the longest-serving mayor in the region.
Asked about his new status as the longest actively serving local leader Mayor Brodie says he’s more concerned about what he’s able to achieve rather than how long he’s been in office.

“Having said that, it gives me an opportunity to carry on with the initiatives that I can foresee and carry on with some of the programs that we’ve started already in the past.”
As for his objectives, his main priorities will be improving housing affordability and finding ways to reduce traffic congestion.
