Surrey RCMP looking for carjacking suspect

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – Mounties are looking for a man responsible for a carjacking in the parking lot of a strip mall in Surrey this week.

It happened at around 3 p.m. on Thursday on King George Boulevard near 102 Avenue.

“Investigators have determined that the suspect approached and threatened the victim who was sitting in their vehicle and then physically forced the victim out the vehicle,” Cpl. Elenore Sturko with Surrey RCMP said in a news release.

The victim was not hurt, but was emotionally shaken up.

The suspect took off in the vehicle, which was later recovered by police.

The suspect is described as a South Asian or black man with curly dark hair and a dark beard. He’s believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5’9″ tall, and have an average build.

He was wearing a black coat and large grey backpack at the time.
