Home invasion in Maple Ridge

MAPLE RIDGE (NEWS 1130) – A gunshot was apparently fired during a home invasion in Maple Ridge over the weekend.

At around 8:10 p.m. on Saturday, Mounties were called to a home on 228 St. near 122 Ave.

“During the incident it is alleged that a firearm was discharged however, no serious injuries were sustained,” Ridge Meadows RCMP Inspector Aaron Paradis said in a news release.

One person was arrested, but was later released with no charges laid.

There was a large police presence in the area Saturday night.

“When police receive a report of this nature we will respond accordingly with appropriate and significant measures,” Pardis said.

Mounties believe this was a targeted incident and don’t believe the general public is at risk.
