A woman is dead, man in hospital after a crash on Barnet Highway

BURNABY (NEWS 1130) — One woman is dead, and another person is in the hospital after a serious crash that’s closed down Barnet Highway near Texaco Drive since last night.
Just before 10 p.m., Burnaby RCMP were called to the 8000-block of Barnet Highway for a single vehicle rollover.
Police found an unconscious man in the car, while a woman was found ejected from the car.
Both were rushed to the hospital, but the woman died from her injuries.
The collision is being called suspicious, and Homicide Investigators have been called in.
Police do say the man and woman were known to each other, and there is no risk to public safety.
The Mounties also ask the public to avoid the area while IHIT is investigating. There is no word on when the area will open again.
