Woman assaulted in West End by a stranger

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Vancouver police are asking for the public’s help identifying a “person of interest” captured on security footage after an assault in the West End early Saturday morning.

A woman said she was followed into her apartment building on Bute near Pendrell just before 3 a.m. when she was attacked. She didn’t know the person who assaulted her.

Police say they think the incident is isolated and was sexually motivated.

The suspect is a white man in his 20s or 30s with a slim build. He has short dark hair, dark stubble on his face. He was wearing a burgundy touque, black zip-up jacket, blue jeans and he may walk with a limp.
