BURNABY (NEWS 1130) –┬áThe victim of a fatal car crash on Barnet Highway near Texaco Drive in Burnaby Friday night has been identified.

A Facebook post by a friend names Nicole Porciello as the victim.

“It is with a very sad and heavy heart that I share about the passing of beautiful Nicole Porciello…She was full of gentleness, kindness, beauty, and grace. And above all, what I remember about Nicole, is her great, big, all-encompassing LOVE for her son,” writes Lori Myles-Carullo. “He was the bright light of her life and I can’t even imagine what he must be feeling now that his Mama on earth has become his Mama Angel in Heaven.”

According to her own Facebook account, Porciello was an education assistant at the Vancouver School Board.

A man was also injured in the crash. Both he and Porciello were sent to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.

Police are treating the crash as suspicious, and IHIT is investigating.
