Canucks 50/50 jackpot expected to top $1 million

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – If you’re at the Canucks game in Vancouver tonight, be sure to pick up a 50/50 ticket.

Tonight’s match up against the LA Kings isn’t the only reason to keep your eyes peeled, but also to see if you’re the one to walk away with half a million dollars.

The jackpot is expected to top $1 million, and that means the winning ticket holder is expected to go home with a guaranteed $500,000.

The rest of the cash will be split between the Canucks Autism Network, Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, and the B.C. Children’s Hospital Foundation.

You don’t even have to go to the game itself to possibly win big — tickets for the 50/50 draw can also be found online.

The goal of this special event is to raise money for a good cause, and the hope is to beat the previous record of $1,014,555 — the largest 50/50 raffle in Canadian sport history.

That draw happened on Apr. 5 at Rogers Arena, during the Sedin twins’ final home game before retirement.

The Canucks take on the Kings at Rogers Arena at 8:00 p.m.
