Minivan narrowly avoids customers as it slams into busy Surrey restaurant

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – An Earl’s restaurant in Surrey is partially boarded up now, but it was quite a different scene on Sunday night.
A minivan is said to have slammed into the front of the restaurant, on 152nd Street in Guildford.
There are no reports of injuries after the vehicle plowed through some shrubs and sent a pillar into the waiting area of the Earl’s.
Curious morning commuters and walkers stopped to peer into the windows Monday morning, or were forced to alter their path to the bus stop to get around police tape which now surrounds the restaurant, which is said to have been filled with guests at the time.
The front awning was also sent crashing into the lobby around 8:20 p.m. Sunday, and images from the scene show shattered glass everywhere.
There’s still no word on what caused the vehicle to crash.
