TransLink wristbands being resold on Craigslist

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — TransLink sold out its brand new Compass wristbands in a flash today and now it looks like they’re popping up on Craigslist, for a hefty mark-up.

Two thousand of the bands were made available to the public today, for about six bucks a piece.

However, some ads posted to Craigslist show people trying to re-sell them for $50, $100, and even $150.

Many of the postings have now been removed from the website.

Earlier on Monday, hundreds lined up at Stadium-Chinatown SkyTrain Station and the West Coast Express Office in Waterfront Station to purchase the wristbands, which sold out within an hour.

TransLink says it is looking at ordering more wristbands to sell early next year.
