Woman killed in Sea-to-Sky crash remembered as ‘kind’, ‘creative’

SEA TO SKY (NEWS 1130) – We’re learning more about the young woman who was killed in a crash along the Sea-to-Sky Highway this past weekend.

Bekah Mann was the youngest of six children, her sister Joy Pringle, tells NEWS 1130.

“She was amazing,” Pringle says in a Facebook message. “Full of energy and life.”

She says the 24-year-old had moved to Squamish to live with her, and was trying to save some money in order to travel.

“Bekah wanted to travel the world,” Pringle added. “She wanted adventures. She loved the little things in life.”

A GoFundMe page set up to help cover Mann’s memorial service costs also describes the young woman as a caring person, one who enjoyed spending time with her large family, and “every moment that she got to spend with her nieces and nephews.”

Mann was killed in a multi-vehicle crash that happened along the highway just before noon on Sunday, south of the Chance Creek Bridge.

Pringle tells NEWS 1130 she began to worry when she heard her sister was running late for work, and wasn’t answering her phone.

“We had a pretty close bond,” she said.

The crash shut down a portion of the Sea-to-Sky for some time, and there’s still no word on what might have caused it.

Money raised from the GoFundMe page will help Mann’s family make the 24-year-old’s dream of being buried in a bio urn “that will grow into a tall and majestic tree” a reality.

Pringle says her sister was very fond of nature, and describes her as being “eclectic.”

“She loved fairies and it reminds me of a kayak trip to a waterfall, when she was younger and she said ‘If I was a fairy, this is where I would live.’ She was so sweet and we really miss her.
