Shoppers Drug Mart granted license for mail order medical marijuana

By

Shoppers Drug Mart has been granted a license to sell medical cannabis through the mail.

According to Health Canada’s list of authorized cultivators, processors and sellers, Shoppers can sell cannabis in dried, fresh and oil form. They will also be able to sell plants and seeds.

Back in September, the Canadian retail pharmacy chain received approval to be a licensed medical marijuana producer, which opened the door for Shoppers to dispense medical cannabis to patients.

Shoppers has already signed supply deals with various licensed medical marijuana producers, including Aurora Cannabis, Aphria Inc., MedReleaf Corp. and Tilray Inc.

While you will need a prescription from your doctor, you will not be able to get extra Optimum points on your marijuana purchase.
