VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Vancouver police want to talk to a man who escorted a woman home after she was sexually assaulted by another man after midnight on Dec. 15.
In a Monday release, police say the woman was walking on Main Street near East 17th Avenue when a man approached her, seemingly to offer help with a phone call, and then attacked and sexually assaulted her.
Shortly after, the release goes on, the ‘good Samaritan’ approached the victim after the attacker reportedly got startled and ran off west. He escorted her “a significant distance to ensure she got home safely” and police want to find out if he has any information on the incident.
The attacker is described as a white man, 30 to 40 years old, five foot 6 inches tall, with a stocky build, bulging eyes, and dirty hands. At the time, he was wearing a black puffy jacket with red fleece underneath, and oversized pants.
If you are the ‘good Samaritan” or have information what happened that night, please call investigators at 604-717-0604.
