Driver in Vancouver fatal hit-and-run comes forward

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) —  A driver involved in an early-morning hit-and-run that left one man dead in Vancouver on Thursday has come forward.

Vancouver Police seized a vehicle while they continue the investigation and consider charges. A 39-year-old man died after a hit-and-run on Kingsway near Glen Drive, and his body was found around 3 a.m.

“The 54-year-old driver in this case eventually did the right thing by coming forward,” VPD Sgt. Jason Robillard said in a statement.

He says the person has been released pending further investigation.

“Charges will be determined once a thorough investigation has been completed,” Robillard said.
