BC Hydro: Fewer than 100 remain without power on Gulf Islands

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) —  BC Hydro says fewer than 100 customers on the Gulf Islands are without power, after restoring service to approximately 700,000 British Columbians since a powerful windstorm on Dec. 20.

Customers both on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands have had to go without power through much of the holidays after a storm knocked them off the grid. BC Hydro crews have been working around the clock to get people their power back, even calling in reinforcements from Alberta and the East Coast who helped out clearing fallen trees and repairing electric grid infrastructure such as transformers and poles.
