VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – If you have plans to take a ferry Monday afternoon or evening, you’ll likely find the boat a little quiet.
Deborah Marshall with BC Ferries says while extra sailings are still on the schedule on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, there aren’t the same crowds as there are around Christmas.
“What we find on New Year’s Eve is people will be travelling up until early afternoon and then our traffic does tend to taper off,” she explained.
“We’ll see a bit more traffic on Jan. 1 than we would on a regular Tuesday in January, but traffic does tend to taper off,” she added.
After Tuesday, schedules go back to normal.
“Some customers will take the rest of this week off, but we do expect to see our commercial customers returning. [We expect] business as usual … on Wednesday.”
