More rain for Lower Mainland; winter conditions along out-of-town highways

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The downpours keep coming for Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, with Environment Canada continuing its rainfall warning for both regions into Thursday.

Rainfall totals of up to 90 millimetres is expected for sections near the mountains, while areas over the southern sections are forecast to receive up to 50 millimetres around Metro Vancouver.

In the Fraser Valley, rainfall totals are expected to range from 50 to 80 millimetres, with Hope expected to receive up to 100 millimetres.

The rain is supposed to ease up by Friday morning as the storm system moves out of the region.

You’re being warned of possible localized flooding or flash floods as a result of heavy downpours in low-lying areas.

A rainfall warning is also in effect for the Howe Sound region.
