Allan Schoenborn set to go before the BC Review Board

COQUITLAM (NEWS 1130) – A man found not criminally responsible for killing his three children is expected to ask for more freedom on Thursday.

Allan Schoenborn is scheduled to make an appearance before the BC Review Board.

Schoenborn has admitted to killing 10-year-old Kaitlynne, eight-year-old Max, and five-year-old Cordon in their home in Merritt in 2008. But a judge believed a psychiatrist who said he was suffering from psychosis.

In August, 2017, a B.C. Supreme Court justice ruled Schoenborn does not meet the criteria for a “high-risk accused” designation. That designation would have meant Schoenborn would not be allowed to leave the Forensic Psychiatric Hosptial in Coquitlam, where he is currently being held.

Schoenborn is currently allowed to ask the hospital for escorted day passes into the community. It’s unclear what additional freedoms he may request from the BC Review Board.
