VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Take an excursion. Have a margarita. Check your work email?
It seems a lot of Canadians have trouble unplugging while on vacation.
The idea of not checking your work email to see all those “reply alls” seems like a brilliant idea — in theory. But it seems half of us are looking at our messages at least once a day while travelling.
When it comes to Millenials, that figure jumps to 72 per cent. But among GenXers and Baby Boomers, it drops to 42 per cent and 32 per cent respectively.
Men are a bit more likely (55%) to check their work emails while on vacation compared to women (44%).

The survey from Ipsos done for Allianz Global Assistance Canada looking into our travel habits also found while we like to document our trip on social media, many of us tend to post “better than reality” photos.
One in three Canadians admit to posting pictures that make their vacation look better than it actually is. Millennials lead the way, with half of them doing this. Only about a quarter of GenXers and just seven per cent of Boomers admit to doing the same.
