$100K reward to find gangster accused of murdering rival 10 years ago

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Police are unveiling details about a new strategy and a $100,000 reward to find a United Nations gangster wanted in a shooting death at a Langley strip mall nearly a decade ago.

Sergeant Brenda Winpenny says the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit says they need any information that will lead to the arrest of Conor D’Monte.

“This monetary offer for reward is available for anyone, in any country, that has information that would lead to the arrest of Conor De’Monte,” she says.

The unit is also partnering with the “Be on the Lookout” program out of Montreal to find D’Monte, who is wanted on an international warrant.

“D’Monte has been charged with the murder of Kevin Leclaire, as well as several other charges related to the acts of violence that the streets of B.C. experienced back in the early 2000s to mid-2000s.”

It’s believed D’Monte may have fled the country.

“This investigation is actually ready to go to trial, so we’re not actually looking for any more witnesses or people to testify, this solely is a new strategy in an effort to locate him and arrest him in order to bring him home here to Canada to face his charges,” Winpenny adds.

Anyone with information is asked to contact their local police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
