VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Air Canada says it will save enough plastic to connect Vancouver and Halifax.
The airline is introducing wood stir sticks this summer.
Air Canada’s stir stick replacement will be made of bamboo and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
It says the switch will cut out 35 million plastic stir sticks every year.
According to Air Canada, it is trying to reduce waste sent to landfills from offices, facilities, and lounges by 20 per cent by 2020 and recycle half of approved items onboard.
