VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A 12-year-old boy is shaken and distraught after he was shot multiple times in the face and neck in Surrey on Feb. 3.

The boy, who isn’t being identified, was sledding at Hillcrest Park in Cloverdale on Sunday when he was suddenly shot with pellet guns.

“I just start running,” he says. “And then I get hit in the back of the head, at least three or four times.”

Julie Pender, the boy’s mother, says he is very shaken up by the incident.

“He was hit probably about 16 times or so,” she says. “Fortunately the police were very quick to respond, and I did take him to the emergency room.”

The 12-year-old was left with minor injuries to his head and neck.

Investigators think two young men may have fired the pellet gun before taking off.

RCMP say one of the suspects was wearing a black jacket, a black toque and a camouflage face mask.

The second was wearing grey pants and a black hat.

Police say both suspects were allegedly carrying assault-style pellet rifles.

Police are asking anyone information about this incident to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, or contact Crime Stoppers if you wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca.
